Telugu hit is being screened privately for top Mumbai studios as actor Akshay Kumar closes in

Hindi filmmakers are showing a lot of interest in the recently-released Telugu hit Kanche. According to sources, on Thursday, representatives from a few film studios including Eros, Fox Studios and Reliance watched the film and four special screenings were held. Sources claim many are looking into the possibilities of remaking the movie in Hindi.

And Akshay Kumar is fast emerging as a possible contender. According to a source, the action star has reserved a special screening of the movie and is going to watch the film in a few days. Also, Kanche’s director Krish is currently in Mumbai and was present at the time of the screenings, added the source.

The film, set in the backdrop of World War II, stars Varun Tej and Pragya Jaiswal. “It is still not known who is going to direct the Hindi remake as Krish has committed two films to a private studio in the coming days. It’s very unlikely it will be Krish himself,” says a source.
