Police grill ex-MP, kin on mysterious deaths

Samples collected from Rajaiah’s house for forensic tests

WARANGAL: Police on Thursday continued to interrogate ex-Warangal MP Mr Rajaiah, his wife Ms Madhavi and son Mr Anil Kumar at the Mamnoor police station following the mysterious death of his daughter-in-law Sarika and three grandchildren on Wednesday.
 
The police has collected many samples from the former Congress MP’s house and the room where the burnt bodies of the four deceased were found.  
The samples have been sent for forensic examination. 
 
Subedari circle inspector C. Narender said a case has been registered under IPC Section 498A (dowry harassment and domestic violence) and IPC 306 (abetment of suicide) along with CrPC Section 174 (police to enquire and report on suicide). 
 
The cops said they would produce Mr Rajaiah and his family members in court late on Thursday or Friday. 
Warangal DCP Mr Yadaiah said that the investigation would be completely transparent. 
 
“We are investigating from all angles. It might take about two or three days to come to a conclusion. We will take opinions from experts and then move further,” the police official said.
