HyderabadReminding that late Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru had laid the foundation stone for the Nagarjunasagar dam in 1955 for a good cause, TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Thursday accused the TRS government of neglecting the interests of farmers under the Nagarjunasagar Left canal in TS ever since it came to power last year.

Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy was among the speakers at a meeting held at Nagarjunasagar dam on Thursday with the topic being “Nehru and his vision for India'.
TPCC organised the meeting as part of instructions from the AICC to hold seminars and meetings commensurating with the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of the late Prime Minister.

Several Congress leaders, including former Union minister S. Jaipal Reddy and senior leaders K. Jana Reddy, Shabbir Ali, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and V. Hanumantha Rao took part in the meeting. They alleged that the present NDA government was totally neglecting the contributions and service to the nation by Nehru and said that it was promoting a communal agenda.
