I would always end up playing a tree in my school plays: Ranbir Kapoor

Mumbai: Ranbir Kapoor just returned from London, where he was shooting for Karan Johar's film 'Ae Dil Hain Mushkil' , to promote his upcoming film 'Tamasha' with Deepika Padukone. The two along with director Imtiaz Ali were present to watch a short play at Prithvi theatre.

Ranbir's parents have expressed happiness on him coming home in time to celebrate Diwali. Neetu Kapoor is reported to have said, "Ranbir is back in Mumbai for a month to promote his next film Tamasha that is directed by Imtiaz Ali and he will go back to London at the end of November, but I am happy he is here on Diwali."

At the event, Deepika said, "This is my first time at Prithvi theatre and it is a surreal moment because I have always wanted to watch at a play in this theatre with the two of them (Ranbir and Imtiaz) together. So it is like a dream coming true. As an actor, it is exciting to see different people do different kinds of work."

Ranbir, on the other hand, narrated few incidents of his childhood. He said, "In school, people used to think that I am a very good actor because I belong to a family of actors. But whenever I used to audition for a play, I would never get the part. I was not fluent in English and hence I would end up playing the part of a tree or a door."

Ranbir and Deepika also said that their movie will surely impress everyone and the audience will leave the theatres with a big smile. The movie by Imtiaz Ali is all set to release on November 27.
