Hyderabad: A police search is on for a five-year-old girl who was kidnapped from Secunderabad Railway station on Thursday evening. When the child's mother went to purchase train ticket, her attention got diverted, and an unknown woman fled with the child. Police has been able to identify the face of the kidnapper with the help of CCTV footage.
According to police, Rani, a native of East Godavari district, came here along with her five-year-old child, Durga, a few days ago to be with her brother living in Attapur area. Thursday, she and the girl came to the Secunderabad railway station. There, they got acquainted with a woman who introduced herself as a resident of Vijayawada.
When the child started crying, the stranger woman took her out to buy some fruits, while the mother stood in the queue for tickets. After buying fruits for the girl, the stranger woman took the child and escaped in the crowds," said Secunderabad GRP Inspector Anjaneyulu.
