Told to paint walls, tech students angry
Schools were also asked to put up art work on toilet walls on their campuses
Hyderabad: The NDA government now wants engineering students to paint compound walls and public places. In a perplexing circular, engineering education regulator, the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), has told engineering colleges to get their students to take up wall paintings and murals in public places.
This is supposed to be a part of the first anniversary celebrations of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat programme. Schools were also asked to put up art work on toilet walls on their campuses.
