Council set to be younger this time

Thiruvananthapuram: Many young councillors will be part of the new corporation council that is expected to come to power soon.

The LDF candidate MA Vidhya Mohan, 21, defeated BJP candidate by 416 votes and won the Thycaud ward. Stephi J George, 21 of Congress defeated Daya Nandakishore of CPM for 47 votes and will represent Keshavadasapuram ward.

Bindu S, 23, defeated BJP candidate by 1343 votes in Muttathara ward. Meanwhile anchor Veena Nair, 26 lost to CPM’s Bindu Sreekumar for 125 votes at Sasthamangalam.

LDF’s Amal, 26, lost for 277 votes against BJP’s Kodunaganoor Hari in Kodunganoor ward. The average age of winning candidates is the lowest for BJP candidates.
