Get free twin-bin dustbins form tomorrow

One driver will cover 600-800 houses, with the monthly fee being Rs 50 per house

Hyderabad: Twin-bin dustbins will be distributed by CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao on November 9 at People’s Plaza free of cost. For door-to-door collection, the GHMC would also provide 2,000 auto trolleys under the Owner cum Driver programme. Over 44 lakh dustbins (green for kitchen waste and red for plastic waste) will be distributed on Monday.

The collection of garbage is being privatised, whereas the vehicle driver is allowed to collect a fee from every household on a monthly basis. One driver will cover 600-800 houses, with the monthly fee being Rs 50 per house.

Explaining BRS and LRS Schemes, GHMC commissioner Dr B. Janardhan Reddy said, “All the Citizens of GHMC are  requested to utilise the opportunity for regularisation of plots purchased in unauthorised layouts and regularise the unauthorised costructions/constructions made by way of deviation to the sanctioned plan.” The guidelines are as follows:

  1. Unapproved layouts and sub-division of plots with registered sale deed / title deed existing as on 28.10.2015, shall be considered for regularisation.
  2. Buildings constructed prior to 28.10.2015 are eligible for regularisation.
  3. Unauthorised buildings deviated from sanctioned plan made after 28.10.2015 will not be regularised and stringent enforcement measure including demolition will be taken up.
  4. Satellite Imageries like Google Earth/Maps will also be verified to assess whether the construction is made prior to 28.10.2015.
