Bihar election results: Celebrations begin as trends show Grand Alliance leading
Grand Alliance is leading in 124 seats
Patna: Celebrations broke out at the Janata Dal (United) office here on Sunday as early trends indicate a lead for Grand Alliance. Party workers were seen dancing and bursting firecrackers.
According to the latest Election Commission data, Grand Alliance is leading in 138 seats - Janata Dal (United) in 64, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in 62 and Congress in 12, while BJP in 97 seats.
In the last Assembly polls in 2010, the JDU had won 115 seats while BJP won in 91 when both parties had an alliance. RJD had got 24 and Congress 5, contesting separately.
Amidst tight security arrangements counting of votes for the five-phased Bihar Assembly election is underway.
39 counting centres have been set up throughout the state. CCTVs camera have been installed at all counting centres. E-counting software will also be used to record real time compilation of round-wise data.
