Mumbai: Team India Director Ravi Shastri has been removed from IPL’s Governing Council.

Shastri had once argued about terminating Chennai Super Kings citing its big name and reputation. But his logic was not entertained by BCCI Secretary Anurag Thakur.

Thakur substantiated his statement talking about the past termination of contracts with respect to Kochi and Pune franchises and said the decision must be left to the Working Group.

Now, the Governing Council has been reduced to five members.

Nonetheless, South Zone selector Roger Binny lost his job due to conflict of interest as his son Stuart Binny still features in the Indian cricket team.

Former India wicketkeeper MSK Prasad is all set to replace the 1983 World Cup winner. Gagan Khoda will replace Rajinder Singh Hans.

On the other hand, former India skipper Sourav Ganguly replaced Anil Kumble as the Chairman of BCCI Technical committee.

Earlier in the day, N Srinivasan was removed from his post as ICC Chairman and BCCI President Shashank Manohar is set to take over the tainted Tamil Nadu strongman’s post in a move that has put Srini’s stronghold over Indian and world cricket to an end.

The decision was taken during the BCCI’s 85th AGM meeting at its headquarters, here on Monday. Appointment of the ombudsman, or Ethics Officer, is one of the key changes that have been proposed in the BCCI's Memorandum of Rules and Regulations to be taken up at the AGM.

Amongst the other cricketing developments - Visakhapatnam, Ranchi, Indore, Pune and Rajkot are the five new Test centres.
