New Delhi: Wary that Parliament’s coming Winter Session is likely to be a stormy one, as a reinvigorated Opposition led by the Congress is likely to give it a rough time, the Centre adopted a conciliatory approach towards the Opposition to allow the passage of key reform Bills.

The session will begin on November 26 and end on December 23. Briefing reporters after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, parliamentary affairs minister M. Venkaiah Naidu urged the Opposition not to interpret the Bihar results as a “mandate to disrupt Parliament”.

A much chastened government showed signs of reaching out to the Opposition, clearly aware that along with the Goods and Services Tax Bill, eight other Bills are pending in the Lok Sabha and 11 in the Rajya Sabha.
