Vijayawada: A builder allegedly duped several investors and escaped with crores of money collected in the guise of selling flats of an apartment at Prasadampadu.
According to the victims, builder Chennupati Sri Krishna started building apartments in Prasadampadu and sold flats in it to people known to him. He managed to sell flats to over 80 persons of the area and collected around Rs 10 crore in the form of advance and full amount more than an year ago.
However, with Sri Krishna delaying in handing over the flats, buyers gathered at the under-construction apartment complex a few days ago and found that a single flat was sold to multiple persons. Sri Krishna absconded from the city and is currently unavailable. However, hoping that Sri Krishna would come back and give their money back, they did not lodge any official complaint with the police. There are over 40 victims.
Patamata inspector K. Damodar said that no complaint was received so far. Since Sri Krishna was born and brought in the same area, locals trusted him and invested in his ventures. In a similar manner one scribe turned realtor N. Vamsi Krishna duped hundreds of people by selling the same flats .
