Hyderabad: Many students living in the hostels of Osmania University, officially or unofficially, are staying back this Diwali to study. Instead of celebrating with their families in their hometowns, they are burning the midnight oil, preparing for exams for government jobs. With the Telangana government notifying various job opening, the students are eager to crack the exams.
Thousands of them attend various lectures conducted daily by the EOC of the university on various subjects for preparation of competitive exams. OU student K. Sahidulu said, “Since the formation of the state I have been waiting for job notifications by the government. Now that the government is releasing the notifications, I just want to focus all my energy on studying to score well and secure a job. Diwali can be celebrated later.”
