Manju Warrier’s Jo and The Boy has been in the news from the days of its shoot itself, though the makers tried to keep it a secret. There were unconfirmed reports that the actress was essaying the role of a 20-year-old character in the film.
However, the actress cleared the air. At the title launch function of the film, perhaps the first film in Malayalam which organised a title launch after the production of the film, the actress said, “Though we maintained to keep the production details and story line a secret, we could see many reports coming in connection with the film that indicate my character is just 20 years old. Even then we did not come forward to correct them. Juan alias Jo, my role in the film is not that of a 20-year-old lady,” said Manju.
At the function, the actress recollected the difficulties the crew had faced during the shoot of the film at Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu. “The climate at Kodaikanal was completely unpredictable. When we went there for a scene with a pleasant climate, suddenly rain started and we had to stop the shoot. Like that when we planned a scene with rain in the back drop, again the climate cheated us. But all these were great experiences for us during the shoot,” said Manju, who has acted with Master Sanoop Santhosh in the film.
