Bengaluru: A destructive bowling spell from Stuart Binny and Shreyas Gopal blew away Odisha to smithereens as Karnataka romped to their second outright win of the season in the Ranji Trophy Group A game in Mysuru on Tuesday. At the SNRW ground, the defending champions thumped Odisha by an innings and 64 runs to grab seven points including a bonus.
Following this win, Karnataka are placed second behind Delhi (24) with 21 points while the visitors are seventh with nine. On the final day, the visitors trailing by 168 runs and in trouble at zero for one overnight, crashed for a mere 104 in the second innings. Binny, only playing his second match of the season took 4-34 while leg-spinner Shreyas claimed 3-43 to skittle Odisha in just 36.1 overs.
In the next game, the R. Vinay Kumar-led side will take on table-toppers Delhi from Nov. 23-26 at the Rajnagar Stadium, Hubballi.
