Organiser article maligns Kerala culture: Pinarayi Vijayan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan has lashed out at the RSS for an article published in its mouthpiece Organiser which denigrates Malayalis, their life style, culture and eating habits.
The CPM leader said the article written by Surendra Nathan a Mumbai based lawyer, portrayed Malayalis in a bad light. By justifying the anti beef raids in Kerala House, the RSS had questioned the pride of Malayalis, he said.
Mr Vijayan said the article which was full of lies was intended to create communal divide in the state. The article cal-led Malappuram ‘a mi-niature of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’ where cow slaughter took place at every nook and corner of the district.
It also said thought the state had cent per cent literacy, it had the history of highest political murders, highest suicide rate, highest number of people affli-cted with mental ailments and various psycho somatic disorders, highest divorce rate, highest number youths of live-in relationships.
BJP, RSS distance selves from article
BJP and RSS State leaderships reserved their comments on the article. The leaders maintained that it was the authors’ personal view and it could not be considered to be the view of the BJP or RSS state leadership.
