Pawan Kalyan says stir for tag not just yet
Problem won’t be solved by taking to streets: Pawan Kalyan
Vijayawada: Jana Sena chief and actor Pawan Kalyan said he would stage a satyagraha to secure special category status and other benefits for AP if the Centre fails to implement its promises.
Speaking after a three-hour meeting with AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan said both were waiting to see how the Centre would implement its promises.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised during the October 22 Amaravati foundation stone laying ceremony that the Centre would fulfill its promises as per the AP Reorganisation Act.
He said that the BJP would face opposition from the people if it fails to implement its promises.
Given these factors, there was no use taking to the streets for this purpose. He said that the problem would not be solved if he met somebody in Delhi. The CM had already made several efforts in this direction. “I am not a bigger man than the CM,” he added.
“I was supposed to participate in the capital foundation ceremony. But I was busy with my film shooting. I met the CM to bring to his notice concerns of the capital city area issues,” he said.
Reacting to a question, Pawan Kalyan said the CM told him not to take any land forcibly from anyone. He complimented the state government for completing land acquisition without hurdles.
He said he had requested the Chief Minister not to take up bauxite mining without the consent of locals in the Agency area. “I also requested him not to displace the people,” he said.
Pawan Kalyan to skip GHMC poll
The Jana Sena would not contest in the GHMC elections, party chief Pawan Kalyan said here on Thursday.
The party would not contest any polls till the 2019 Assembly elections, he said.
He said that he did not have the money and other “strengths’ to contest elections.
He said that he did not discuss political issues during his interaction with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu earlier in the day.
He was replying to a question on whether he would campaign for the TD-BJP candidate in the Warangal Lok Sabha byelections.
