Hyderabad: A couple returning home after celebrating Diwali died in an accident while their daughter escaped with minor injuries on Thursday morning in Shamirpet area.
The mishap occurred when their car rammed into a truck ahead of them.
Businessman B. Satish (45) and B. Srilatha (40), residents of S.R. Nagar in Hyderabad were returning from their native place at Siricilla in Karimnagar district after celebrating Diwali along with their daughter B. Vyshnavi, a Second Year Intermediate student.
After crossing Turkapally near Shamirpet area on Thursday morning, they were heading towards Hyderabad.
The accident took place at an incline when a truck ahead of them slowed down to change gears.
“The car, which was behind the truck, lost control and rammed into the truck,” said Shamirpet SI Mr Ravi.
Satish who was driving the car and Srilatha, sitting beside him, died on the spot. Vyshnavi, who who sitting in the back seat, escaped with minor injuries.
A case under Section 304(A) has been registered and the bodies were handed over to the family after post-mortem.
