Kozhikode: Murder convict hacked

KOZHIKODE: A convict in a murder case was hacked and bombs were thrown into his shop by unidentified assailants  at Kuttiyadi on Friday.  Nizar, who was  convicted in the murder of CPM worker Kallachi Inthullathil Binu, 25, in 2001, was seriously injured and admitted to the medical college hospital here. Two attackers and two employees of his shop  also suffered injuries.

Nadapuram DySP M.P. Premsadan said  that six  assailants came on three motor bikes and hurled bombs at Nizar’s fancy shop around 10 a.m.  

They  then hacked him.  In the melee, two  attackers also suffered serious injuries.  The injured employees are Mohammed and Kunjali.   The shop was damaged.

The  Nadapuram DySP has clamped prohibitory  orders in Nadapuram and  Kuttiyadi areas for 10 days.
