Bengaluru: 5-year-old girl sexually assaulted by 15-year-old
The victim and the accused are neighbours and the incident allegedly took place on November 7
BENGALURU: A five-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a 15-year-old boy in Avalahalli police station limits on the outskirts of the city. Following a complaint by the girl’s mother, the police have detained the boy and remanded him to the government run observation home. The victim studies in an Anganawadi centre, while the accused is a fifth standard dropout.
According to the police, the victim and the accused are neighbours and the incident allegedly took place on November 7, near the house of the accused. Noticing the change in behaviour of the girl, her mother asked her the reason. Finally on Friday, the girl opened up and narrated the incident to her mother, who immediately rushed to the police station and a filed a complaint.
“Based on the complaint filed by the victim’s mother, the boy was detained on Saturday morning. After a medical check-up, he was produced before a magistrate and was remanded to the observation home,” the police added. Avalahalli police have registered a case.
