Katihar: Seven bombs were recovered from a passenger train on the Katihar-Malda section of the North-East Frontier Railway, a railway official said on Sunday.
Acting on a tip-off, Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel launched a search in the Malda-Katihar passenger train and seized an unclaimed carton box containing seven crude bombs underneath a seat in a general class compartment last night, Superintendent of Railway Police (SRP) Jitendra Mishra said.
The bombs were defused by the bomb disposal squad.
Mishra said the bombs could have belonged to dacoits.
