Chennai: DMDK chief and Leader of Opposition Vijayakanth has stirred a controversy yet again by hitting his party’s Panruti MLA P. Sivakolundu in full public view while on a visit to rain-hit Cuddalore district on Saturday.
After distributing welfare assistance to the flood-affected people in Periyakattupalayam near Panruti, Vijayakanth started hitting Sivakolundu, who is also the party’s district secretary, on his head in full public view and shouted at him. Irritated over the interruption made by his party legislator, Vijayakanth who stood up in his vehicle to greet the villagers, started hitting him and also shouted at the driver to start the vehicle.
The incident left the villagers shocked. The entire episode was captured in a video and repeatedly aired by news channels. DMDK leaders were not available for comment. This is third time the actor-politician has vented out his anger publicly. Interestingly, Sivakolundu was at the “receiving end” for the second time.
