Congress: Don’t trust Modi, CM Chandrashekar Rao
Sarve Satyanarayana said he would dedicate his entire life to Warangal
Bhupalpally (Warangal): Bhupalpally Calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Telangana state Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao “liars”, AICC general-secretary Digvijay Singh on Sunday said that it was high time people taught the two a lesson.
Mr Singh was speaking during campaigning for the Warangal Lok Sabha bypoll at Bhupalpally, where he reminded the people that it was the Congress which made the separate Telangana demand a reality.
“While the Congress did everything in its capacity to make Telangana a reality, KCR didn’t even speak in Parliament,” Mr Singh said, accusing Mr Rao and the PM of betraying the people with false promises.
“Modi promised he would bring black money back and debit Rs 15 lakh in every Indian’s bank account. Today, people are totally dissatisfied with the BJP. KCR too made tall promises but failed to keep any of them,” he said.
Former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar said, “While farmers are distressed due to poor weather conditions and failed crops, neither the CM nor any of his ministers has found time to meet them, but Rahul Gandhi consoled them.”
She said that she was honoured to have presided over the Lok Sabha when the Telangana statehood Bill was introduced. Ms Kumar said that AICC president Sonia Gandhi and the Congress were dedicated to giving the Telangana people their identity and did so by creating Telangana state.
She appealed to the people to vote for party candidate Sarve Satyanarayana in a way that the BJP and TRS are ousted from Warangal. “Give them the same result Modi received in Bihar,” she said.
Party candidate Sarve Satyanarayana said he would dedicate his entire life to Warangal if he was elected.
