Hyderabad: An accountant working with the University College of Science in Saifabad was arrested while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 from a vendor who supplied vegetables to the college hostel, police said Monday.

Yadaiah agreed to pay Rs 8,000 but had second-thoughts. On Monday,Yadaiah was called by the accountant, asking the vendor to meet him at NMDC X Roads with the promised amount. Yadaiah alerted the  anti-corruption bureau and went there.

“He came in his car, got down and took the amount. We caught him immediately,” said Anti Corruption Bureau DSP Ashok Kumar. Officials recovered the bribe amount from him and he was tested  colour-positive.
