2.4 years in prison, he got bail and then fled abroad

Anantapur: Notorious red sanders smuggler Kollam Gangi Reddy  was ordered to serve his pending conviction period and sent to central  prison in Kadapa on Monday.

Gangi Reddy was sentenced to spend four years in prison in connection with the murder of Triveni Steels proprietor Muralidhar  Reddy in Proddutur in 1992.

After spending 2.4 years in prison, he got bail and then fled abroad. His  1.8 year conviction period is  pending.

The special police team produced Gangi Reddy before Proddutur  second class JFCM V.V. Srinivasa Murthy at his residence in  Kadapa at  around 6.30 am on Monday. Gangi Reddy was earlier taken to RIMS  hospital for a medical check up for a physical fitness certificate.
