At the 56th Battery Symposium in Nagoya, Huawei unveiled lithium-ion batteries, which it claims can charge 10 times faster than normal batteries, reaching about 50 per cent charge within five minutes.

At the event, Huawei presented two batteries, a 600mAh one, which charged to 68 per cent in two minutes, and a 3000mAh battery, which took just five minutes to charge up to 48 per cent. The latter battery, Huawei promised, would allow a 10hour of calls on Huawei phones.

There is no word, however, on how soon that will be; Huawei did not reveal when the new batteries will be released for commercial use.
