Mumbai: Shahid Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan’s film ‘Rangoon’ went on today! Warda S Nadiadwala photographed director Vishal Bhardwaj and producer Sajid Nadiadwala at the studios this evening.
In her tweet, Wards said, ‘Yayyyyyy Maashallah!!! #RANGOON started Goodluck team’.
Sajid also celebrated his wedding anniversary with a small cake cutting ceremony at the film’s sets. This is not the fist time the producer began a film on his anniversary, in 2013, he shot ‘Kick’s mahurat shot.
'Rangoon' is a love story in the backdrop of the Second World War. Kangana will be seen taking the lead in this film, where she will be seen playing a ‘diva’ of the 40’s. The actress has reportedly chopped of the messy curls and even learnt the art of horse riding and dancing for the part.
Shahid, who is hoping to revive his career after his disastrous film ‘Shaandaar’, will be playing the role of an army officer. The actor took to his social networking app to inform fans that he would be sporting a beard for the film. The actor has also reportedly gone out to meet army personnel in order to get into character.
While Shahid and Kangana are dusting off the dirt from bad film releases, Saif Ali Khan had a good going at the box office with his film ‘Phantom’. The actor also recently wrapped up his cameo in Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’.
The film will be shot in quite a few exotic locations. Buzz is that the team are even seeking permission to shoot a few scenes at the Burma border.
