Mumbai: The Government Railway Police (GRP) of Mulund caught hold of an inebriated middle-aged woman who was spotted in a local train nude and was creating a ruckus, which led to delay of trains for over 15 minutes. She is in police custody presently and the GRP police is searching for her family.

The woman, who is in her 50s, got into the luggage compartment of a CST-bound local train from platform no. 4 of Thane railway station at around 8.15 am on Tuesday. She was creating chaos in the compartment when the few gentlemen came forward inform the Mulund GRP police about the same. Then, the stationmaster along with two women GRP officials came to Mulund station and tried to get her off the train.

According to police officials, the woman got into the train at Thane station and started shouting. Most of the people clicked photographs while the GRP officials attempted to clothe her and took her in their office. Because of the drama, the train was halted for 15 minutes at Mulund station and accordingly other trains were held back.

A police official privy to the matter said, “ The woman has not yet informed us about where she has come from, as she was not in the right mental state owing to the hangover. We have filed case against her under Section 43 of the Indian Penal Code (Indecency in public place) and are searching for her family members. We are also trying to get CCTV footage of Thane station to ascertain the exact time when she got into the train and to find out if she had removed her clothes herself or some other people were responsible for her condition. The woman speaks English very well and seems to be from a good family although we haven’t got any idea about where she lives.”
