Two Indians enter World Wushu finals

New Delhi: Y. Sanathoi Devi and Pooja Kadian on Tuesday assured India of at least two silver medals after entering the finals of their respective weight categories in the 13th World Wushu Championship in Jakarta.
Asian Games bronze medallist Sanathoi defeated South Korea’s Hyebin Kim in straight rounds in the below 52 kg semi-finals while Pooja beat Sherouk Mansour of Egypt in straight rounds in the 75 kg category.
The two Indians face Chinese opponents in the finals on Wednesday. Sanathoi will take on world champion Lunn Zhang and Pooja will fight against Yuan Li. However, 2013 bronze medallist Rajani Deori lost to world champion Ali Abdul Khalikov of Russia in the pre-quarter-finals. Four Indians will take field on the final day of competitions on Wednesday.
