Intel to push digitisation in Indian villages

The first centre has been opened in Nadimpalle village in Mahbubnagar at a Common Service Centre (CSC)

HyderabadTechnology giant Intel will be setting up electronic service delivery points across 10 states in India under the title Unnati Kendra. It will be a one-stop centre for all e-services, in backward areas of rural India and these centres will act as a midpoint for all government and private services like payment of bills, insurance premiums etc. It will house several computers, laptops, scanners and other digital devices to impart digital education to the villagers. The first centre has been opened in Nadimpalle village in Mahbubnagar at a Common Service Centre (CSC). 
 
Intel South Asia MD and VP (sales and marketing) Debanji Ghosh said, “We will be opening centres in 10 states across rural India and provide content and services sourced from various sectors including banking, insurance etc.”  Intel will also be providing a device called ‘PC on a Stick’ which turns a TV into a computer in the backward villages. TS, which runs Digital Telangana Centres, has got an assurance from insurance provider Future Generali to provide e-insurance services at these centres, informed  IT secretary Jayesh Ranjan.
