Naidu pays floral tributes to Anuradha and husband
Chittoor: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu paid floral tributes to the mortal remains of Anuradha and Mohan at the Corporation office in Chittoor on Wednesday.
The mortal remains of the husband and wife were placed on a dais in front of the Corporation office for the convenience of Telugu Desam Party leaders and public to pay their last respects.
The Chief Minister visited the chamber where the incident took place after paying tributes to the deceased, and had discussions with IG Gopala Krishna, SP Srinivas inside the chamber.
He also spoke to the persons who were present in the chamber at the time of incident including municipal vice chairman Subramanyam, 8 ward councillor Annapurna, 39 ward councillor Rani, Telugu Desam Party town secretary M. Mohan. He gathered all information about the gruesome incident talking to people for more than 45 minutes.
Later speaking to media in the Corporation office premises, he strongly condemned the incident and termed it a gruesome and the work of a psychotic mind. He said it was a preplanned murder as three assailants attacked the couple in the chamber and remaining two out of five were waiting at the ground floor. He said three had surrendered on Tuesday and the remaining two also would be arrested within two days.
“Nobody involved in this case will be spared at including persons who incited the murder,” he said.
He urged the public to give information to the police about the incident if they had any, and assured that their identity would be kept confidential.
Telugu Desam Party state president Kala Venkat Rao, Minister Bojjala Gopala Krishna Reddy, MLCs Muddu Krishnama Naidu, Gownivani Srinivasulu, MLAs D.A. Sathya Prabha, G Sankar and others also paid floral tributes to the two deceased Telugu Desam Party leaders.
Final rites today at Chittoor town
The final rites of both Mayor Anuradha and her husband Mohan will be held on Thursday at Chittoor. The body of Mayor Anuradha was brought from government hospital mortuary to the corporation office premises and placed there for visitors to pay homage at 10.30 am.
The mortal remains of Mohan was brought to Chittoor form Christian Medical College Vellore by 1.30 pm and was placed beside his wife Anuradha’s dead body.
Many Telugu Desam Party leaders and activists including public of the town were paid their last respects to both.
In the evening, the two bodies were taken out in a procession from corporation office to Mohan's residence at Ganganapalli via Gandhi statue, MSR junction, MGR street, government hospital amidst full security. Additional securrity forces were deployed to ensure peace during the procession and to avoid untoward incidents.
The public participated in considerable number throughout the procession.
