Maruti helps flood-hit customers in Chennai
The company has issued guidelines to its dealers and workshops
Chennai: Prominent car maker Maruti, has stepped in to help the flood-affected people in Chennai. The company has issued guidelines to its dealers and workshops, asking them to help its customers in various repairing and restoration work.
“So far, about 200 Maruti vehicles were reported at the dealerships with waterlogging problems and over 65 vehicles have already been repaired and put back on road. More vehicles are likely to report to the workshops in the coming days,” said the company in a statement.
The company is diagnosing the problems caused by waterlogging for these vehicles and also assessing the requirement for replacing of spare parts. These spare parts are being brought from Gurgaon and replaced accordingly.
Some of our dealer workshops in Chennai also suffered water logging and were out of operation. Our engineers have put all of these workshops back into operation, it said.
The company said that it has discussed with the insurance firms to clear claims. “Insurance companies have responded positively and have seen value in Maruti Suzuki’s previous initiatives to help customers,” it said.
They added that immediately after the heavy rains, the dealers sent SMSs to customers cautioning them, which helped in minimising the damage.
