Mumbai: Ever since ‘Pinga’ from ‘Bajirao Mastani’ was released, there have been varied reactions. While some have praised the dance sequence performed by Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra, others have gone all out and criticised it. The song that is a Marathi folk song, infused with classical elements, has Priyanka Chopra as Kashi Bai welcoming Deepika Padukone’s Mastani to the Bajirao household.

The song has some glaring misrepresentation almost every department. From costumes to music and choreography, several elements of the song has already raised eyebrows. Recently, Mohini Karkarey, who is a descendant of the Peshwas, has written an open letter to director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. In the letter, she claimed that Kashibai could not have danced because she was suffering from arthritis. Karkarey has also claimed that Mastani was not a courtesan, but the daughter of Raja Chatrasaal of Bundelkhand.

At a recent event, when Deepika was asked about the controversy, she refrained from commenting over it. The actress claimed that she is clueless about it and Sanjay Leela Bhansali would be the best person to clear it.

Given that the 'Bajirao Mastani' trailer is all set to release today, we are assuming that Sanjay would break his silence over it.
