Eddie Redmayne ‘feared’ transgender role
Actor admits that he had issues playing the critically acclaimed role in the film The Danish Girl
In an interview with the New York Daily News, Oscar winning actor English actor Eddie Redmayne — who plays a transgender woman in the film The Danish Girl — said that he had many fears while essaying the role, including whether he was “pretty” enough.
“One of the most interesting things for me was my first day on the set as Lili Elbe and the gaze of the crew members - being looked at and being judged, it really made me nervous,” he said, “There’s a moment in the film where Lili says, ‘Do you think I’m pretty enough?’ and it was something that was sort of on my mind as well.”
