Farmers in Kurnool oppose land acquisition for proposed Airport

Govt. had issued a GO No. 566 for land acquisition process for proposed airport in Kannamadakala

Anantapur: The farmers protested against survey by revenue officials for proposed Airport near Orvakal in Kurnool district. The farmers led by CPM leader B. Ramakrishna had resisted the officials from conducting survey for land acquisition process for the airport on Thursday.

The state government had issued a GO No. 566 for land acquisition process for proposed airport in Kannamadakala, Pudicherla and Orvakal villages in Orvakal mandal. Farmers staged protest refusing to handover lands for the purpose.

The activists resisted the revenue officials from conducting the survey and the officials were forced to return. With farmers started resisting the land acquisition process, the officials sought leaders to convince the villagers to cooperate for the purpose.
