Warangal: 2 run over while changing tyre
The victims, bound for Hyderabad, were changing a tyre on the highway when a truck ran over them
Hyderabad: Two persons from Hyderabad who were replacing a punctured tyre on their car were run over by a speeding truck in Warangal district early on Thursday.
Police said Md Abdul Qadir, 37, of Masab Tank and Md Nazir Siddiqui, 45, of Bahadurpura and their families had gone to a dargah in Kazipet on Wednesday.
They were returning late in the night when the rear tyre on the right side of their car got punctured at Sammiguda tanda on the outskirts of Alair.
Qadir, who was driving the car, and Nazir started replacing the tyre, while four members of their families stood aside.
“While they were replacing the tyre, a truck hit both of them and sped away.” said Alair sub-inspector Narsimhulu.
Qadir died on the spot while Nazir succumbed while being shifted to a hospital. Police booked a case under IPC Section 304(a) (causing death by negligence) and is hunting for the driver.
