Mumbai: It has now been established that Peter Mukerjea was, in 2012, trying to locate and get details of call data records of his step-daughter Sheena Bora soon after her death. And according to sources close to the CBI investigations, he was using his “contacts” in the Mumbai police in order to receive that information.

This also raises a question that whether the police had any indication of what the Mukerjeas were up to in 2012, especially after Peter’s son Rahul informed them about Sheena’s disappearance and their failure in registering a missing complaint report.

Moreover, the Pen police led by then SP, R.D. Shinde, who around the same time found a decomposed body of an unidentified woman (Sheena) in a burnt suitcase, chose not to register even an accidental death report let alone register a murder case, which was made out prima facie.

Based on this fact, it is likely that the CBI will summon some policemen for questioning.

Cop helped Peter Mukerjea track Sheena’s phone

Peter and Indrani were living in the UK and Indrani returned to India on April 23, 2012 to kill Sheena with the help of her driver Shyamvar Rai and her first husband Sanjeev Khana.

Throughout the time, Indrani was in constant touch with Peter over the phone. Call records have shown that had spoken for almost half an hour before the murder, during dumping Sheena’s body in Pen, Raigad and even after dumping the body.

Around April 26, Peter too returned to India. A short while after his return, Peter got in touch with his contacts in the Mumbai police. It is not yet clear whether his contacts were from the constabulary, officer level or from the IPS cadre.

Interestingly, while Peter was on one hand  trying to locate Sheena’s location, on the other hand he had lied to Rahul on phone that he had “already spoken to Sheena” and that “she was alive”.

This particular statement of Peter about Sheena has been made by Rahul to the CBI.

Sources also claimed, “Rahul did not give this recording regarding Peter’s information to the Mumbai police because he did not trust them.”

Speaking out in the public for the first time, Indrani Mukerjea on Friday told that she had been falsely implicated in the case (mere ko fasaya gaya hai).

CBI, in its chargesheet, said fear of Sheena inheriting the entire property of her and her husband if married to Rahul is said to be the prime motive to kill her daughter.
