Student held for stealing gold from uncle’s house
Cops recovered 46 tolas of gold from them and arrested the duo
Hyderabad: A student and his two friends who stole from his uncle’s house were arrested by the police on Saturday. Azeem, an old chain snatcher, confessed that he and his friend Qavi stole 60 tolas of gold and Rs 1.5 lakh from his uncle Tajamul’s house. Cops recovered 46 tolas of gold from them and arrested the duo.
Police said that Azeem Ahmed Siddiqui, 19, a notorious chain snatcher from the Old Malakpet area, and his friends Mousin and Amer were involved in nearly eight snatchings in 2012 in Hyderabad.
Azeem was summoned by the Central Crime Station for the Integrated Survey of Old Criminals in the first week of November.
CCS joint CP Prabhakar said that Azeem confessed to having stole from his uncle's house and that his friend Md. Abdul Qavi had helped him. Azeem’s uncle Tajamul Ahmed Khan stays in the Old Malakpet area. He saw that his uncle stored gold in the house. Azeem collected the house keys and made a duplicate.
“Azeem and Qavi entered the house and stole 60 tolas of gold and Rs 1.5 lakh,” the joint CP said. Both were remanded to judicial custody.
