Tomin J Thachankary clears new KSRTC staff dress code
As per the new dress code, the drivers shall wear Navy Blue pants and sky blue shirt or churidar

Kochi: Transport Commissioner Tomin J Thachankary on Saturday issued a notification allowing a request by the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation Managing Director to modify the uniform prescribed for conductors, drivers and checking Inspectors.
“Strict action will be taken against the staff upon violating the modified dress code. The changes are part of the modernization of the Corporation and as part of the efforts to make it profitable,” said Antony Chacko, Managing Director.
Though the KSRTC management implemented the ‘change in uniform’ decision on July 1, a section of the staff moved the High Court which in turn left the decision to the Transport Commissioner.
“The Transport Commissioner has examined the matter in detail and decided to modify the notification accordingly,” reads the notification (No C1/14217/TC/2015).
As per the new dress code, the drivers shall wear Navy Blue pants and sky blue shirt or churidar. The conductors would have to don Navy Blue pants and sky blue shirt/churidar while the Checking Inspectors have to wear Black pants, Half sleeved white shirts with single pockets.
Ever since its formation in 1965, all category of employees of the KSRTC were wearing ‘khaki’ as the uniform.
