Sebi seeks vendor for Sahara docs

SC has asked Sahara group to deposit all documents and money with Sebi for the refund process

Mumbai: The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) is planning to outsource the function of storage and maintenance of the 20 crore pages of investors data related to the high profile Sahara case in which two Sahara group entities were asked by the Supreme Court to refund investors to the tune of Rs 24,000 crores.

The SC has asked Sahara group to deposit all documents and money with Sebi for the refund process. Inviting bids for its 'Electronic Data Storage and Web Access Project, the market regulator said it would like to avail the services of any third party server hosting vendor to take over, store and maintain the electronic data of 70 terra bytes (TB) and also to provide the services of web access to the data. The storage facility for 70 TB of electronic data includes PDF files comprising of about 20 crore pages.
