Hyderabad: A Unani doctor who allegedly tried to dispose off the dead body of a patient was arrested by the police on Sunday.
Salman, who runs a Unani clinic at Misrigunj in the old city area and his friend tried to burn the body of patient Khaja Nayeemuddin after he died. A murder case has been registered.
Khaja Nayeemuddin 45, was a resident of Misrigunj in the Jahanuma area and he used to run a paan shop in the locality. He was suffering from back pain since some days. On Saturday at around 1.30 pm, he came to the Unani clinic run by Salman alias Sajid. Salman treated him and gave him an injection, and Khaja died due to reaction.
Salman tried to hide the body but he got scared fearing that he would be caught. So he made a plan to dispose off the body on the city’s outskirts.
He packed the body in a gunny bag, placed it on his bike and along with his friend rode to the airport area. “He dumped the body on the roadside near Ramalayam temple, poured kerosene on the body and set it ablaze. Locals saw the fire and thought garbage was on fire,” said airport police station inspector P. Sudhakar. Patrol teams noticed the fire and came to check. On seeing them, Salman fled. Cops saw him running away and intercepted him. He admitted burning the body. A hunt is on to nab Salman’s friend.
