No Kuruba in cabinet: HM Revanna slams Sididaramaiah
H.M. Revanna also asserted the need to remove ‘dead wood’ from the cabinet
Bengaluru: Congress MLC H.M. Revanna, considered a close associate of Chief Minister Sididaramaiah, has vent his frustration over being kept waiting on the sidelines saying the Kuruba community has received a raw deal in the sharing of power. This could be termed an embarrassment for Mr Siddaramaiah, a Kuruba himself.
Mr Revanna, who worked hard to bring Mr Siddaramaiah into the Congress a decade ago, told Deccan Chronicle: “The CM does not belong to a community. He belongs to the state. So, the community should have been represented. Can we imagine a government running for 30 months without a Vokkaliga or Lingayat minister? Kurubas are tolerant, they have large hearts. He has time, he should rectify this.”
Mr Revanna however did not concur with the idea that the CM kept out Kurubas because he did not want other Kuruba leaders to grow and pose a threat to him. He also asserted the need to remove ‘dead wood’ from the cabinet.
