In just a little over three years, this dimple-cheeked doe-eyed bombshell has given Sandalwood something to sink its teeth into, quite happily. From Simple Aag Ond Love Story, it’s a “dimple Aag Ond success story” for actress Rachita Ram who has literally raced through with box office successes ever since she made her debut in Bul Bul alongside Darshan. She then came back with another project with Darshan in Ambareesha and followed it up opposite Kiccha Sudeep and then struck gold in Dil Rangeela with Golden Star Ganesh. Though she missed a power-packed project in Rana Vikrama, she soon made it with Chakravyuha alongside Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar.
The dimple-cheeked girl who awaits the release of Rathaavara with Sri Murali, speaks exclusively to Bengaluru Chronicle about her star projects and even lets us in on what she is busy shooting for now, another hugely anticipated venture Bharjari.
With a successful career in such a short span of time, Rachita feels she is among the lucky few. “I owe it entirely to my fans, supporters, family and most importantly to my ‘awesome’ co-stars and directors who showed immense faith in me. I simple feel lucky and blessed. Presently, I am shooting for Chakravyuha, and Bharjari. After working for more than a year, Rathaavara is finally releasing in the first week of December. Unlike my earlier projects, in this particular role, I am a quiet and serious engineering student in the film,” Rachitha says, adding that she feels that she emoted the best in Rathaavara with her eyes more than her actions.
The actress, who considers Kiccha Sudeep as her inspiration “forever,” explains that she took up Rathaavara after working with cinematographer Bhuvan Gowda. “I had worked with him in Ranna, and I was very impressed with his technical work. After a couple of shoots, I learnt that Bhuvan had actually worked partially for Ugramm as well, so I took up Rathaavara. The product has come out really well. Sri Murali has been an amazing co-star. I have huge expectations from this film,” says the hudugi.
Despite working with only leading stars in the industry, Rachita has always given importance to script and her character before saying yes to a new project, and the presence of stars has been a huge boost to her career. “I have signed not more than two projects a year, and I give a lot of importance to the script. There have been instances where I have refused big projects if the character had no substance.” Busy shooting daily since her debut, the actress says that she loves working. “I am a workaholic. I love to work 24X7.
After 6.30 pm, I am back home, spending quality time with my family. If I am really bored, I call my close friends to locations where I am shooting. We have lots of fun on the sets,” she reveals.
Before heading back to her second day of shooting for Bharjari, Rachita shares that all her co-‘stars’ have been very supportive and now, she is looking forward to working with them again, good story line and script in tow, of course.
