KOZHIKODE: A mobile solution for the acute labour shortage is at hand. With just a click on the mobile application,  you can contact a coconut plucker, a painter or a  labourer to do household works.

The application christened Pany (job)  has been developed by Sayyid Salman, an entrepreneur  from Malappuram district,  giving you all information about local labourers.

The app is Malayalam- based to help the ordinary people access it easily.   ‘Pany’ can be downloaded from Google Play Store  and its users have crossed over one lakh in a few days after it was  introduced.

It offers a wide range of features, including   contact numbers of  40  categories, a business directory of over 485 categories, workers’ directory of  over 250 sectors, online shopping facilities that include  over 75,000 items, job search,  sale of used items  and self-job opportunities.

Sayyid said, “we introduced this concept to solve the serious  shortage of labour to do household work, which will worsen in the future.”

The app is developed with user registration, custom edit and updating, GPS-based searching and the latest currency rate to know the wages of the labourers.

Even the worker next to your house could be registered on the mobile app, which would  help you trace them easily, he explained.
