We were treated as terrorists; allege arrested FTII students
Kishlay Tiwari and Shubham Vardan raised placards against the appointment of Gajendra Chauhan
Panaji: Two former FTII students, who were arrested after they tried to disrupt the IFFI inaugural function, on Tuesday alleged that they were questioned like terrorists by the Goa Police.
Kishlay Tiwari and Shubham Vardan had raised placards in a protest against the appointment of Gajendra Chauhan as FTII chairman during the ceremony on November 20 here.
They were released on conditional bail by the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) on November 21. Kishlay, however, claims both he and Shubham were beaten up by the police and later were slapped with "baseless charges".
"We were questioned on different things like where did the mail come from, who all were part of it. As if we were some terrorist organization. They slapped some baseless charges on us," he claimed.
