Hyderabad: The first extended coordination committee meeting of Telugu Desam and BJP leaders was held on Monday to take stock of affairs relating to the forthcoming GHMC polls.

In the meeting, it was decided to politically take up issues concerning the GHMC polls against the ruling TRS and MIM parties.

“On every issue, be it delimitation of divisions or reservations, the state government has been taking decisions politically, so we too decided to take up the issues politically,” said BJP MLA Dr K. Laxman after the meeting.

He added that besides highlighting the failures of the state government, they would expose the nexus between the TRS and MIM politically.

On Tuesday, leaders and cadres of both parties will stage a dharna against arbitrarily deciding on the divisions to the advantage of the TRS and MIM.

TD city unit president and MLA Maganti Gopinath said that it had been decided in the meeting to coordinate GHMC poll-related affairs and also to work unitedly for the success of candidates in all the 150 divisions.

“Only when the reservations are finalised will we get to know about the contestants from different caste equations and there will be coordination between our two parties even at the polling booth level,” he said.
