Warangal bypoll: TRS activists jubilant
MP Vinod Kumar flays Opposition parties for baseless allegations
Karimnagar/Nizamabad: Cadres of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) erupted into celebrations following thumping victory of the party’s candidate Pasunuri Dayakar in Warangal bypolls of which results were declared on Tuesday. Similar scenes of celebrations were witnessed in mandal centres and many towns across the district on Tuesday.
Leaders, activists and members of the TRS bursted crackers and danced to drum beats at Telangana Chowk and crossroads of Godavari-khani, Jagtial, Huzura-bad, Husnabad and Peddapalli towns. They distributed sweets among themselves and to general public and passengers of RTC buses at junctions in many parts of the district.
Speaking to pressmen in Karimnagar, government Chief Whip K. Eshwar attributed the result to trust of public over performance the TRS government and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. He termed the verdict as a slap on the face of Opposition parties for constantly criticising the government’s policies. Many parties made baseless allegations against us, but voters of Warangal Parliament segment did not believe them and taught a lesson Opposition parties, he opined.
Karimnagar MP B. Vinod Kumar, too, flayed Opposition parties and took potshots at Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The result reflected people’s confidence over the TRS government’s governance. Voters of Warangal did not trust statements of Opposition parties. Even national parties could not save their deposits, he stated.
Mr Vinod alleged that the Prime Minister was obsessed with foreign trips and was not striving hard for addressing challenges of the country. He vowed that they would raise issues of Asha workers, crisis in farming sector of the state and assurances mentioned in the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014. He regretted that the Union government had sanctioned Smart City tag to only two cities of Telangana state.
Meanwhile,celebrations erupted across Nizamabad district on Tuesday. TRS leaders and activists burst crackers and distributed sweets on the victory. Party leaders are in jubilant mood over thumping majority in the bypoll.
TRS district party office witnessed scores of party activists participating in the celebrations. In Ichoda, TRS activists celebrated party’s victory.
