Hyderabad: Chief Minister and TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday told party leaders from Warangal district that they need to be patient to get nominated posts.

He said the governmnt was building pressure on the Centre to delimit Assembly constituencies, as promised in the AP Reorganisation Act, which may result in 34 new Assembly constituencies being created by 2019, so that aspirants will be accommodated in a phased manner.

Mr Rao was addressing a delegation of Warangal district leaders who worked for party candidate P. Dayakar’s landslide victory in the byelection, at the camp office here. Mr Rao said Mr Dayakar, an ordinary party worker who had no financial resources, was now MP and his nomination had drawn widespread appreciation.

“Like Dayakar, every eligible leader will be given an opportunity. You need to wait with patience. I came to know that the model code came into effect from today for the MLC polls. I have asked the Chief Secretary whether the government can go ahead with the appointment to nominated posts or not.

I want to start appointing party leaders, beginning with Warangal district,” he said.
