Hyderabad: An engineering graduate and a tech student from Hyderabad were caught by the police on Thursday for possessing an air gun.

Maqdum Azam, 24, who completed engineering and Muzaffar Ahmed Malik, 22, studying engineering second year at the Al Habib Engineering college at Chevella, are residents of Edi Bazaar at Yakuthpura in Hyderabad.

On Wednesday, the duo went to a farmhouse in Cheryala village of Sangareddy in Medak district, belonging to Azam's family. They carried with them an air gun which they had purchased from Hyderabad.

After their visit, they started back to Hyderabad on their scooter. When they reached Patancheru, their scooter skid and the duo fell down on the road. When they fell down the air gun hidden under their clothes came out and the police apprehended them.

“We verified their identities and the purchase receipts of the air gun. We summoned their parents and counselled the men in their presence,” said Patancheru inspector Lingeshwar. The duo were let off after they furnished individual sureties.
