Visakhapatnam: Groom disappears ahead of marriage
Bride’s parents approached the Atchutapuram Police
Visakhapatnam: A bridegroom vanished from the marriage hall three hours before the muhurat at Sri Satyanarayana Swamy Shrine at Annavaram area in East Godavari district on Thursday.
According to reports, Mr P. Ramu Naidu, 27, of Ramannapalem of Achyutapuram mandal in Vizag district had fallen in love with a 20-year-old girl of Maturu of the same mandal. The two were employees at the Atchutapuram SEZ.
The affair went on for over a year and parents of Mr Naidu and the girl agreed to their union and fixed Thursday as the marriage day. The two families arrived at the Satyanarayana temple in Annavaram ahead of the muhurat of 8.36 am on Thursday.
While the arrangements were on, Mr Naidu took Rs 1,000 from the bride’s mother and told her that he was going out and would return in a couple of minutes. But her did not come back. Sources said that Mr Naidu disappeared because his relatives were against the marriage as the bride was from another community.
The bride’s parents had apparently turned down Mr Naidu’s proposal for marriage initially but had finally agreed after he persistently requested them. The bride’s parents approached the Atchutapuram Police on Thursday evening and the cops are searching for the groom.
